Mayrhofen is one of Austria’s best known resorts and lies in the Ziller Valley where keen skiers, non-skiers and those seeking a lively night life are well catered for. There is a new cable car to the Ahorn area and a fast gondola up to the Penken. This ski region is connected up to the Finkenburg, Rastkogel and Egglam ski areas, belonging to the extensive 'Zillertal 3000'. There is over an incredible 150km of pistes plus another 85km on the nearby Hintertux Glacier. If you are a more adventurous skier try the infamous ‘Hara Kiri’, a black run with a 78% gradient.
