From the minute we opened our first small retail shop in Seaham, Co Durham, in 1980 I was hooked - I fell in love with the travel industry.

We've come a long way since our very small beginnings - we now have 43 branches, and two call centres in the North East, more than 300 homeworkers across the UK and we're growing all the time. Our annual turnover is now over £450 million and we employ more than 800 people.

As well as finding people their ideal holiday, we arrange all the extras like car hire, transfers and insurance. There is also a foreign exchange bureau in each of our branches across the North East, where you can pick up commission free currency before you set off on holiday.

Over a hundred independent travel retailers also operate under the company’s licences and bonds. These agents form the Hays Travel Independence Group, a consortium which benefits from the company’s buying power, technology and back office expertise.
