Cervinia
Cervinia is one of Italys more popular resorts; this is due to its ski lift connection to Zermatt, Switzerland. You can actually ride over the border on a six seater chair lift! The resort is named after Mount Cervinio, which the resort stands below. Cervinia is also significant in ski history as it was one of the first resorts to be purpose built in the 1930s. It also remains one of Europes highest resorts with the ski lifts linking up to 3,899m Europes highest lift served point. Because of its high altitude, it has a long season and great snow. If the weather holds, you can usually be guaranteed loads of sun as well as long tree-lined runs.
